The Genitive Plural of Nouns
Родительный падеж имён существительных (мн.ч.)
1) The genitive case of a noun denotes possession and answers
the questions чей? чья? чьё? чьи? (whose?), кого? (of whom?), чего? (of what?)
Чьи книги? - Книги студентов.
2) The genitive is used after the words нет (have no; there is no), не было (had no; there was no),
не будет (will have no; there will be no).
3) The genitive is used to indicate the starting point of motion. In this case different prepositions are used: из, с, от.
